Kentucky Lake Information

The Lady Bass Anglers Association will bring the third stop on the 2012 tournament season to Tennessee's Kentucky Lake South. This tournament is a memorial tournament for Larry Shaffer. Anglers will be launching daily from the Paris Landing, Tennessee ramp.

Kentucky Lake is the mainstream reservior of the Tennessee river. The dam backs up about 160,000 acres of water making it the largest of the Tennessee Valley Authority reserviors. The companion body of water is Lake Barkley which impounds 118 miles of the Cumberland river. These two bodies of water are connected by a channel near the dams of each reservior. Both bodies of water will provide the Lady Bass Classic anglers with plenty of opportunities to bring in bigs sacks of fish each day. The state record fish for the state of Kentucky are 13 lbs 10.4 ounces for largemouth,11 lbs 15 ounces for smallmouth, which is also a world record and 7 lbs and 10 ounces for spotted bass. This two day pro/am event will have pro-anglers competing to bring in the heaviest 5 fish limit comprised of any combination of largemouth, or spotted bass. Co-anglers are looking for the same species but only need 3 fish for a bag limit each day. The angler in each division with the largest combined two day weight will be awarded the top cash prize for her division. First place in the pro division is guaranteed a minimum $5,000 payout. One angler in each division will also be awarded a cash prize for the biggest bass of the tournament. Cash payouts in each division will be paid to every 1 in 4 anglers registering for the tournament.

he Lady Bass Anglers Association Angels Community Clinic Charity Tournament will take place on day three. This tournament is open to the public with proceeds going to Angels Community Clinic. Entry fee is $100 per team and has a guaranteed 1st Place prize of $1,000. A $200 bonus will be paid to the highest finishing team with a female team member and the highest finishing team with a child age 12 or under. Membership in the LBAA is not required.

At the conclusion of the weigh-in, drawings for raffle items will take place adding another level of support for the Angels Community Clinit charity. Raffle items have been donated by national and local organizations.
