Lake Ray Hubbard Tournament

The Lady Bass Anglers Association will begin the 2012 tournament season on Texas' beautiful Lake Ray Hubbard. With 21,671 acres of water, Lake Ray Hubbard is located in Collin, Dallas, Rockwall and Kaufman counties. It is located on mile west of Rockwall on the East Fork of the Trinity River. It has a maximum depth of 40 feet. The lake records are 14.10 lbs for largemouth and 2.11 lbs for smallmouth bass. There is no current lake record for spotted bass. The state records for each species are 18.28 lbs for largemouth 7.93 lbs for smallmouth, and 5.90 lbs for spotted bass. Entry fee for pro-anglers is $400 and for co-anglers is $200. This event is hosted by the City of Garland with the last day to register without a late fee being February 21, 2012.

This two day pro/am event will have pro-anglers competing to bring in the heaviest 5 fish limit comprised of any combination of largemouth, or spotted bass. Co-anglers are looking for the same species but only need 3 fish for a bag limit each day. The angler in each division with the largest combined two day weight will be awarded the top cash prize for her division. First place in the pro division is guaranteed a minimum $5,000 payout. One angler in each division will also be awarded a cash prize for the biggest bass of the tournament. Cash payouts in each division will be paid to every 1 in 4 anglers registering for the tournament.

The Lady Bass Anglers Association Charity Tournament will take place on day three. This tournament is open to the public with proceeds going to a charity to be named by the City of Garland. Entry fee is $100 per team and has a guaranteed 1st Place prize of $1,000. A $200 bonus will be paid to the highest finishing team with a female team member and the highest finishing team with a child age 12 or under. Membership in the LBAA is not required.

At the conclusion of the weigh-in, drawings for raffle items will take place adding another level of support for City of Garland charity. Raffle items have been donated by national and local organizations.

Lake Ray Hubbard is a City of Dallas Water Utilities body of water. There are no camping areas around Lake Ray Hubbard. You'll find just two parks on the lake shore, Robertson Park, which is operated by the City of Dallas, and Paul Jones Park, which is operated by the City of Garland. Robertson Park has two boat launch ramps with a total of six lanes, and launching is free. The park is open throughout the year. The Paul Jones Park is also open throughout the year and has four lanes of free boat ramps. You'll find other marinas and clubs with private boat ramps around the lake shore, most of them charging for launching a boat. Robertson is the designated launch site for the event with the weigh-in each day of the pro/am event will take place at Bass Pro Shops Garland. The weigh-in for the City of Garland Charity event will also take place at Bass Pro Shops Garland.
