Castaway Fishing Products, Inc. is owned by Dr. Robert H. Williams and is operated out of Montgomery, Texas.

Castaway has been in business since the mid 1980’s. In over 24 years of operations, Castaway has grown into one of the top rod manufacturers in existence. They pride themselves on building and standing behind high quality fishing rods. Their company moto used to be “the rod for the fisherman who knows the difference.” The current Castaway moto is “IT’s THE RIGHT ROD!”

Pam Martin-Wells contacted Gena Box-Young, shortly after the Lady Bass Anglers Association began to be formed to find out if there was an interest in becoming a sponsor. It was a no brainer in her mind. When Gena and her late husband (J.L. Box) owned and operated Bull Dog Lures, they were proud sponsors of the Bass’n Gals for a long time. “I have always loved to be around women who loved to be around women who like to do things outdoors.” Castaway is also a sponsor of the DIVAs Women Outdoors Worldwide, of which Gena is a member. The Divas is a great group of women who hunt, shoot guns, bows and arrows, train hunting dogs, fish and etc. We at Castway are proud to be able to participate and help an organization that enables women to enjoy the sport of fishing in a competitive way.

Along with her position and duties at Castaway, Gena is an advance instructor for the Lone Star Region of the Porsche Club on the road course at Texas World Speedway. There are not very many women in that sport either compared to the number of men. “Enjoying the outdoors is something I encourage every woman to try.”
