On November 5th of 2011, Heather Broom, Teri Cindric and Jenny Nevans helped support the next generation of anglers by taking part in the Maryville Middle School Bass Club tournament. David Clark the school sponsor had the following to say.
"The Maryville Middle Bass Club is starting its third year with 48 junior members of The Bass Federation. Our school is made up of 7th and 8th graders and about 5% of our student body is in the bass club. On November 5, 2011 our club held its fall fishing event on Fort Loudoun Lake near Knoxville, Tennessee. We had 42 student anglers fish in pairs along with 21 boat volunteers. Of the 21 boaters, we had several pro anglers which included BASS pro Ott DeFoe ( 2011 Rookie of the Year ) , FLW pro Brandon Coulter , LBAA pros: Heather Broom, Terri Cindric, and Jenny Nevans. It was a very successful event with most of our anglers catching different types of fish. We did give out trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place along with lunker fish for bass that were caught and most fish caught by a team of anglers. We have 6 female student anglers in our club this year and I am proud to say one of them took 3rd place and combine with another female student to catch the most fish with boat volunteer LBAA pro angler Heather Broom.
We are very proud of the success of our club since its 2009 start. We continue to meet with our
