Texas Co-Angler Alisa Johnson

My name is Alisa Johnson and I fish as a Co-Angler. I’m from a small East Texas town called Chandler. I have been married to my biggest fan for 23 years. We have two daughters and a son.

I have always enjoyed fishing, but I had never bass fished until I meet Pam Ridgle, Pro-Angler. I have been very blessed that our families have grown up together and she has taught me everything that I know about this amazing sport. She is the one who got me believing in myself enough to be competitive. Pam and I have participated in some local tournaments and that just fueled the fire inside of me. It has been a blessing to be given the opportunity to fish with the LBAA ladies. I try and learn something new each time I fish with all the different Pro’s. It is a privilege to fish with them and learn new techniques. Fishing as a co-angler, you need to be versatile to catch those fish.

My first LBAA tournament was May 2011 on lake Hartwell, SC. where I was able to win 6th. My biggest accomplishment is that I have been able to qualify and fish the LBAA Classic each year. My biggest bass won me 1st place on the Red River at the Wild Card tournament in September 2013 this 7.75 fatty also took big bass. I had a total that day with three fish that weighed 12.23lbs.

My favorite bait is the Wackey style Senko worm, and I never leave home without a crank bait or two and who doesn’t love a top water bite.

I want to thank my family for allowing me to chase this crazy dream that I have. Big goals have been set for 2016 to fish all the stops this year. My favorite saying is “what doesn’t kill you will make you stronger.” I believe everything happens for a reason and that God has a perfect plan and with his grace and love all thing are possible.
