My name is Robbie Hartline and I live in Hot Springs, AR. I grew up in the Southwest; Texas, Arizona and New Mexico. My Dad introduced me to fishing as a child and I was hooked from the start. Our approach was quite different then. Most of our fishing was done in a lawn chair hoping to catch whatever would bite. I looked forward to every trip and even won a Zebco 33 in a derby when I was 12.
I got introduced to tournament bass fishing in 2000 when I joined the Gateway Bass’n Gals club in St. Louis, MO. I started as a Co-Angler and grew to fish professionally in 2008 on the ESPN Women's Bassmaster Trail. Since then I competed and qualified for the Championship Tournament on the FLW EverStart Series in 2010. I now actively support and compete on the Lady Bass Anglers Association (LBAA) Professional Bass Fishing Tournament Trail since its inception in 2011 and have qualified for the Classic every year since. In March 2019 I finally managed to pull off my first win at the LBAA tournament on Lake Hickory, NC. All the ladies that compete with the LBAA are excellent anglers and very capable of winning. I am honored to have finally achieved that milestone and looking forward to more of the same. Although I really enjoy fishing the ladies circuit, last year I decided to add Mr. Bass of Arkansas (MBOA) to the circuits that I fish. In 2018 I qualified and finished 6th on the amateur side at the MBOA Championship event. Fishing with MBOA has been very educational and rewarding.
I retired from the Boeing Company August 2016 after 31 years. I had a wonderful career with Boeing as an engineer and manager in the defense sector. I am also proud to have served in the Army for 6 years prior to my career with Boeing.
I am now enjoying the opportunity to spend much more of my time fishing and supporting the industry and those businesses and partners that have enabled me to become a successful professional angler. My favorite approach is ledge fishing and my favorite lake is Kentucky Lake. I love throwing a Carolina rig, but you must stay flexible and sometimes that calls for a deep-diving crank bait, jigs, drop shot, shaky head …. whatever it takes. I believe it is very important to fish your strengths but be able to diversify when necessary. Never pass up an opportunity to learn something new.

Most of all I look forward to every opportunity to get outdoors and experience nature. I hate getting up early, but I love being on the water at sunrise when all is calm, and hope is high. There is absolutely nothing like it. I encourage those of you who enjoy fishing and getting outdoors to join a club or jump on a tournament trail. I know you will love it.
